MANIFESTO

François Grimonprez — May 2026
I was born in the second half of the twentieth century. I leave it to polite people to draw their own conclusions.
I had expected to change. To soften, to adapt — that's what one does, apparently. I've kept the same pencils, the same obsessions, the same way of attacking a blank page. It's the world that has changed. And this change didn't happen gradually or evenly: it happened all at once, now.
I used to draw animated films. Years learning to do with my hands what others see in their heads — and to sell it at a high price, because no one else knew how.
Then people started creating images with words. Most animators felt robbed. I looked at the developers — and decided to rob them back.
With my voice, I produce what used to be called dev work. What cost a fortune until yesterday. A symmetrical poke in the eye: images had lost their price, code had too.
I decided to become passionate about artificial intelligence. Not as a tool. As a sparring partner. With it, I experience things I could never have imagined alone — This revolution, the equivalent of a second Quattrocento Renaissance, arrives now before my passing, and good thing too. For… the good things in life, they're better appreciated alive than dead.
Among my problems: I need to meet the people of this new world. I tried Mistral, because we are European. No reply. I produced a CV that contains only URLs — with a timeline showing, day by day, what I built. No reply either.
So one morning, I asked myself a simple question: what if I built an audience first? And what if it's from that audience that I present my CV? This is something that has never existed.
To do something that resembles me, that amuses me, and that has never existed on Earth: I built a very beautiful porn site. With humour, that's a first. This site was built in a morning, entirely through conversation — not a single line of code written by hand. That is also part of the subject.
I invite you to discover it. My CV is there. It doesn't start at age 20. It starts in March 2026.
